Head of Biology ~ Massachusetts Competitive Salary

A growing, market leading biotech in Massachusetts looks to appoint an expert to oversee and grow the Biology group at its expanding Greater Boston based office.

Head of Biology opening, to head up and lead a Massachusetts office - reporting directly to the CSO.


As the company is still relatively small, the Head of Biology will be an integral position for leading the research across a range of therapeutic areas. This role will mainly focus on the early stage research evaluation of new target proposals, directing and guiding the design and implementation discovery development programs.  Serving as the strategic lead, the Head of Biology will also assume management of a target biology team, with the expectations of growing this group as the company grows organically.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • PhD in a related scientific Biology field
  • 15+ years of post-doctoral experience
  • Significant leadership, with proven experience managing departments and projects within industry.
  • Subject matter expertise, with excellent publications within drug discovery, translational research or other related areas.
  • Understanding and experience of using mRNA therapeutics is highly desirable.
