Location: Greater Boston Area

The Associate Director of Data Science/Cheminformatics will be responsible for two direct reports and report to the Director of Computational Drug Discovery and Biology.

They will interface with team leads to understand the unique requirements for data visualization for each project and design visualizations that accommodate the need.

The candidate will identify the chemical property and other data trends and present them to team members in a visual manner.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computational Chemistry or related scientific field with at 3+ years of experience within Life Science

  • Extensive Data Science background

  • Mastery of modern computational chemistry including

  • Cheminformatics expertise, such as modern AI and machine learning, chemical reaction/library enumeration, 2D/3D similarity, clustering, dimensionality reduction techniques that are related to data mining and data visualizations

  • Expertise with macro biomolecular modeling that may be transferable to RNA structure by incorporating constraints from NMR, CryoEM or other structural, biochemical data (RNA modeling experience a plus)

  • Strong scientific programming skills (Python preferred) and pipelining tools, (e.g., Knime) in a Linux environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing

  • An understanding of modern drug discovery including medicinal chemistry and DMPK principles, basic tox and multi-parametric optimization, molecular recognition principles, and the ability to adapt and translate these principles to RNA
