A leading global biopharma company is seeking an Associate Director of Bioanalytical Proteomics to come join their team to support biomarker discovery and validation to support their Oncology, Neuroscience and Microbial Sciences non-clinical and clinical projects. The position is in their San Francisco office, within a World-class facility.

Responsibilities:

• Looking for a fairly independent individual who can influence and deliver on drug development decisions

• Perform biomarker discovery and validation studies using proteomic and metabolomic/lipidomic approaches

• Develop and troubleshoot MS based assays and methods to support biomarker discovery and validation for pharmacodynamic, diagnostic and mechanistic studies

• Work cross functionally with biostatisticians and data scientists to perform data analysis on -omics data sets

• Be the functional expert and representative on cross-functional projects and meetings

• Validate protocols and write reports

• Serve as the functional representative/expert on multidisciplinary project teams

• Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulatory guidelines to implement them in practice as needed

Requirements:

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with 5-10 years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience, including at least 5 years of experience in the industry

• Hands-on experience in proteomics and/or lipidomics/metabolomics using Mass Spectrometry, with a strong background in analytical biochemistry or analytical chemistry

• Strong background in chromatographic techniques like LC for separation of analytes and their characterization using MS based approaches

• Some experience with ion mobility chromatography; QqQ and high resolution instruments

• Strong experience with Mass Spectrometry based -omics data analysis and proficiency with softwares including but not limited to R, MATLAB, Spotfire and JMP

• Strong relevant publications in the field will be highly valued

• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross functionally in a matrix environment
