My client is looking to recruit a passionate Lead Android Engineer who is experienced with the full Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), change management, and modern tools and pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience within mobile development, and you will drive features and play a crucial part in the building & release of new features as well as architectural designs. You will be joining an innovative team of Mobile Developers that are working on some exciting projects at the moment utilising the latest tech.

A self- motivated Lead Android Engineer proficient in Android mobile development with a deep technical know-how from crafting, developing, and producing mobile components and services.


  • Create, migrate, and maintain new features/systems following ATDD and BDD methodology

  • Show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness

  • Reinforce development best practices for quality assurance, security, and deployment

  • Instil and drive a delivery-focused culture while promoting a fun hardworking workplace

  • Contribute to research and the design of new systems

  • Be a hands-on lead, managing a team focused on android technologies.

Required skills:

  • BSc Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar

  • 6+ years’ experience in designing, developing and deploying Android applications

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Senior Software Engineer

  • Strong understanding of data structures, application lifecycles, and functional programming

  • Strong experience in Android Studio, Java, and Kotlin

  • Strong experience in several testing frameworks such as BrowserStack / Appium

  • Strong experience in Git, Git Flow, and other code management tools

  • Experience integrating REST API’s and Socket based systems

  • Experience in Continuous integration tools such as CircleCI, GitHub Actions, etc

  • Experience in backlog management, code reviews, pull-requests, paired programming

  • Near fluent English speaking, reading, and writing ability

Desired skills:

  • Experience with component-driven development

  • Experience with WebRTC, streaming video, audio and video codecs

  • Experience in augmented reality

  • Experience with Smart glasses, AR, VR and Mixed Reality platforms

  • Experience with C# and Unity3D

  • Experience with OpenGL, Vulkan, and Metal

  • Experience in C++, and integrating NDK’s

  • Experience working within regulatory compliance framework e.g. HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC-2
