  • A well-established Gene Therapy company with a start-up feel and programs in Immuno-oncology and Rare Diseases, is seeking an outstanding candidate for their Senior Director, Translational Sciences opening.

  • High profile accountability for a significant portion of the company’s pipelines.

The Senior Director will be overseeing the Translational Sciences efforts to support drug development of their proprietary cell and gene therapies. They will be leading a core group and working in a highly collaborative environment to move programs into the clinic. This position will report to the Head of Translational Sciences and can be remote to begin with.

  • Strategic design and execution of the company’s translational pharmacology plans, with a deep understanding of their proprietary cell and gene therapy platform.

  • Lead a core group, while collaborating with internal and external teams to lead efforts in understanding the biology behind clinical trials and PK/PD data as necessary.

  • Establish PK/PD endpoints for appropriate sampling of clinical protocols, development of molecular assays and advancement of phase appropriate programs.

  • Lead clinical pharmacology studies, analyze PK/PD data and ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines.

  • Engage with drug discovery and clinical teams to inform execution of translational sciences programs.


  • PhD/MD/PharmD degree in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific discipline.

  • At least 5-7 years of direct experience in Translational Pharmacology in an industry setting.

  • A deep understanding of different phases of clinical development of cell and gene therapy modalities (like CART) from Preclinical to Clinical is strongly preferred.

  • Prior knowledge working with external vendors (CROs/CMOs) and IND/BLA and other regulatory filings.

  • Strong leadership, communication, innovation, and mentoring abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
