An excellent opportunity has arisen within a global bank looking for a Technology Director to take full responsibility for the technology strategy and initiatives to support the business. Working with our Head of Strategy to define and support a technology strategy across the organisation. This extends to taking responsibility to further transform the business through digitalisation and innovation and execute a digital & technical strategy to support business solutions throughout the bank. To serve as a leader and innovator of the Information Technology department ensuring that the following standards are continually achieved through strong leadership skills:

  • High level of efficiency, accuracy and control,

  • An innovative and agile pace is exercised across the team providing a timely service to clients,

  • Full compliance with procedures and guidelines,

  • Risk is minimised through effective controls.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To define, develop, lead and implement a technology strategy that will support the growth of the business, introducing digital capabilities to strategic priorities,

  • To support a digital strategy which supports the business which influences drive and innovation to new areas of technology

  • To provide the technological groundwork to support the digital strategy through technologies such as Internet of Things (IOT), Social Media, Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation to improve internal efficiencies as well as creating the ultimate end client experience,

  • The implementation of projects where technology replaces manual processes driving both cost savings, revenue generation and reduction in risk,

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships at a senior level,

  • The oversight of business projects, from a technology perspective, taking responsibility for decisions, deadlines, expenditure and delivery,

  • The oversight of the development and testing of new programs,

  • Setting objectives and strategies for the IT department to optimise strategic benefits and customer experience,

  • To direct the systems applications and infrastructure in order to provide cost effective solutions in support of the business and ongoing growth of the business strategy,

  • Direct the development and ongoing management of procedures and controls in support of the IT processes,

  • Monitor key risk indicators in ongoing management of Operational Risk in respect of those areas of responsibility, introducing and leading the implementation of improvements in processes and controls where required,

  • Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals in line with Key Performance Indicators,

  • Coordinate and manage annual plans and budgets for the Technology area,

  • Provide day to day leadership including the bridging of relationships with Head Office,

  • Manage and cultivate primary external relationships with key service providers and vendors ensuring that service levels and contractual obligations are continually met as well as any regulatory requirements in support of Outsourcing or Third-Party providers,

  • Review of vendor proposals,

  • Lead and manage continual development of the IT department through effective development plans and assessment techniques, identifying & developing successors for key positions in addition to creating cross functionality wherever possible,

  • Following internal and external audits, take responsibility for controlling the effective and timely introduction of any agreed recommendations.
