My client is looking to recruit an experienced and passionate results-driven Test Manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is comfortable leading a small team. The role holder is responsible for all testing activities on IT projects as well as management of outsourced Quality Assurance team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tester looking to progress their career into a Test Manager role.

Role responsibilities:
 
  • Plan, co-ordinate, manage and report on UAT testing activities.
  • Produce test scripts for system testing and UAT in collaboration with the Business Analyst.
  • Produce test plans for all assigned projects.
  • Work with project managers to develop project acceptance criteria.
  • Work with the business analysts to ensure that quality requirements specifications are produced that can be re-purposed to assist with the test process.
  • Perform system testing as required
  • Co-ordinate release testing as required and perform release testing as required
  • Work with the Infrastructure and Support Team to ensure that Staging and UAT environments are managed properly and available when required for testing.
  • Build, develop and maintain a focused, effective and empowered team.
  • Involve the team and engage them with our vision, goals & KPIs to create success.
  • Keep the team updated about our performance, progress and news, and inspire them to make a difference and continuously improve.
  • Indirectly lead a team of offshore testers
  • Drive collaboration across business and IT, offshore delivery teams.
  • Be the primary point of contact with the IT team and business for all testing activity
  • Ensure that every assigned IT project has a relevant and acceptable level of testing
  • Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Developers to ensure the testing process is carried out in a quality manner and in accordance with the Test Strategy.
  • Review key project documentation
  • Implement and maintain Automated Testing for web platform
  • Maintain QA functional mapping and test scripts
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders and consult regularly to ensure they remain engaged and informed throughout the SDLC.
  • Lead, plan and coordinate the development of system changes working with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ensure that all changes are dealt with in accordance with Change Management Policies and Procedures.

Candidate requirements:
 
  • Good working knowledge of web testing, load/performance testing and test automation
  • Experience of working on complex projects in the following areas: Websites, Web Portals, Ecommerce, Online Learning
  • Experience of working with the following technologies would be preferable: Microsoft SharePoint, ASP.NET, SQL Server
  • An aptitude for ongoing learning and ability to develop new skills
  • Experience in owning the delivery of multiple projects in a matrix systems environment.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining testing in Visual Studio 2010 and 2008
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal translation of technology to business terms.
  • Target-driven and focused on owning a business solution delivery timeline.
  • A team player, able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Willing to travel to UK and Asia\South Africa offices if required.
  • Self-organizing and customer / end-user delivery focused.
  • Experience of Jmetre and Selenium.
  • Have a base understanding of data systems and system architecture and a willingness to develop further understanding in this area.
