Overview of the Role
As a Clinical Research Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring that clinical trials are conducted to the highest standards of Good Clinical Practice, ICH guidelines and local regulatory requirements. You will be the primary contact for allocated sites in Belgium, overseeing all stages of the study lifecycle from selection and initiation through to monitoring and close-out. This position is ideal for someone who wants to broaden their exposure to a variety of therapeutic areas while building a solid, long-term career within clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform all types of site monitoring visits (selection, initiation, routine monitoring and close-out) in line with contracted scope of work, GCP, ICH and applicable regulations.
• Work closely with sites to adapt, drive and track subject recruitment plans, improving predictability and supporting enrolment targets.
• Deliver protocol and study-specific training to site staff, ensuring clear understanding of study requirements and expectations.
• Maintain regular communication with sites to manage ongoing project issues, address queries and support high-quality study conduct.
• Evaluate the quality and integrity of site practices, identifying and escalating any issues related to protocol adherence or regulatory compliance.
• Track regulatory submissions and approvals, recruitment and enrolment, CRF completion and submission, and data query generation and resolution.
• Support study start-up activities where required, contributing to efficient site activation.
• Ensure all required site documentation is maintained in the Trial Master File and verify that Investigator Site Files comply with GCP and local requirements.
• Create and maintain clear documentation of site management activities, including visit reports, follow-up letters and other study records.
• Collaborate with our client’s project teams and functional colleagues to support effective project execution.
• Where applicable, contribute to the development of site-level recruitment plans and site financial management, including retrieval of invoices in line with local processes.
Candidate Profile
• University degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Clinical Research Associate.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent command of Dutch, French and English, with the ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.
• Based in Belgium, with flexibility to travel regularly to study sites.
• Valid class B driving licence.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities across different studies.
• Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail in a regulated environment.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with our client’s team, site staff and sponsors.
