Laboratory Manager
Are you ready to lead a team in a dynamic medical diagnostics company? We're seeking a talented Laboratory Manager to join a team based in Galway, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. As a Laboratory Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and quality standards of our laboratory. This position offers the flexibility of working 4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of laboratory technicians and scientists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.
Laboratory Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards, implementing and maintaining SOPs, quality control measures, and documentation practices.
Equipment Management: Manage laboratory equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Project Management: Coordinate and prioritize laboratory activities, projects, and assignments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, implementing best practices and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to laboratory staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biomedical science).
Previous experience in a laboratory management or leadership role within the medical diagnostics or related industry.
Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software is preferred.
Flexibility to work 4 days per week onsite in Galway.
