RBW Consulting earns B Corporation Certification

RBW Consulting – a purpose driven recruitment and search consultancy specialising in the life science sector – today announces that it has officially become a Certified B Corporation(B Corp), furthering the company’s commitment to operating its business as a force for good.

The company is believed to be the first in the life science recruitment sector worldwide to achieve the stringent certification and the news follows the success of the company’s recent – and widely acclaimed – IMPACT research project, designed to support families living with a rare disease diagnosis.

The B Corp verification process administered by the non-profit, B Lab, measures a company’s social and environmental performance. To become a Certified B Corp, companies undergo a rigorous review of the impact of their operations and business model on their workers, customers, communities, and environment, and must meet a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.

“We started out on our business journey in 2007 determined to do the ‘right thing’, and it’s an approach that has stayed with us as a guiding light as we have grown and evolved the business to the 80-person, multi-country organisation it is today. We have weaved purpose into the fabric of our business by doing things like ringfencing profits for patient focused initiatives and gifting equity into an employee benefit trust.  Working towards the B Corp certification was a natural step for us that has helped us to sharpen our tools whilst deepening our connection to our core values of innovation, integrity and insight. We are truly honoured to join this global movement of like-minded businesses, and look forward to continuing to learn, strengthen and improve”, says Richard Warren, Co-Founder and CEO.

Certified B Corps believe it’s time to expand how success is measured in the business world. For-profit businesses should be a force for good and collectively strive for “shared and durable prosperity.” B Corps voluntarily meet high standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. As a B Corp, RBW Consulting measures and manages the impact of its business on its workers, community, and the environment with as much rigour as it manages and monitors its profits.

The team at RBW Consulting believe that it is partly the field in which they work that encourages them to follow a purpose-led business model. Emma Thorp, Chief Commercial Officer for EU and North America, explains, “We are extremely proud of the role we play in helping life science companies deliver their life-enhancing work and the stakes are high. If our clients don’t find the right talent to help them move forward, it can seriously impact their ability to deliver changing innovations. Working in this space gives us a natural drive to want to do things better and be a force for good for all our stakeholders, but with patient outcomes at the heart of it.”
