RBW Consulting are delighted to be working with a leading name in the global biopharma industry who are seeking an Associate Director - Project Leader R&D to join their Projects team in Waterford, Ireland.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project teams who develop new products from initial concept to shelf. This role gives you an opportunity to be fully involved in all aspects of R&D and be at the forefront of exciting new research.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Leading the global development of R&D products and to maximize the product’s potential.
  • Managing multiple projects, programs or a large portfolio of inter-related projects
  • Being accountable for leading delivery of the approved programs to time, cost and quality parameters
  • Communicating effectively cross functionally and within all levels of the business including presentations and delivery of status reports
  • Leading established Innovative/Complex Generic projects alone or select early stage programs based on the candidates experience and expertise
  • Responsible for delivering a product development strategy approved by governance and securing investment for the development program.
  • Through the strategic planning and delivery of the development program-proactively identifying, managing risks and ensuring decisions are made at the appropriate levels and with the appropriate cross-functional input.
  • Collaborate with function leads to ensure their teams are fully resourced and skilled appropriately
  • Develop and manage end to end product development plans to accurately reflect the tactical plan/timeline and interrelated functional activities.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s level degree qualified in a scientific or other relevant field (Masters or PHD would be preferred).
  • 5 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry and at least 3 years leading development projects (Generic/innovative) through to registration and launch.
  • Solid understanding of drug development, industry guidelines, and regulatory and submissions processes globally.
  • Experience leading a global cross-functional project team through all stages of development.
  • Established track record of effective and influential oral presentations – including presenting investment opportunities to senior executive teams.
  • Proven track record of delivery lifecycle management programs.
