 Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • The Cell Biology Expert will be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong background in cell biology, pharmacology and signaling.

  • The candidate will be part of a team contributing to multiple biologics drug discovery projects in close collaboration with the Antibody Engineering, Membrane Protein Biochemistry and Protein Sciences teams.

  • She/He will be excited to help explore, identify and validate new targets/mechanisms and support the evaluation of novel biologic candidates.

  • The position is an opportunity for successful candidates to have a significant impact on the progress of the company’s early pipeline, and contribute to the overall R&D strategy.

  • This individual needs to be a technical expert, with the drive to contribute to discovery efforts that span a wide range of targets and therapeutic areas. 

Requirements

  • Expertise in many aspects of cellular biology, assay development, molecular, functional and imaging endpoints is highly desirable

  • Analytic, creative biologist/immunologist with a background in molecular biology to assist us with developing novel biotherapeutics

  • Proficient with the culture of primary human cells, in vitro assays and assay development

  • Expertise in current technology practices in mouse and human immunology desired

  • Working knowledge and direct experience of a breadth of immunological assays desired

    -     Capability in designing flow panels and analyzing flow data for mouse/human T/Myeloid cells

-      Isolation and culture of primary immune cells human/mouse T/PBMC cell isolation

-      CFSE-based T cell proliferation/ Intra-cellular cytokine detection

-      Luminex assays, ELISAs

  • Molecular biology, electroporation and viral transduction, qRT-PCR, Western blot

  • Addressing questions of cellular MoA and biological targeting in vitro and ex vivo

  • Leverages strong understanding and knowledge of gene expression and cellular mechanism of action (MOA) for candidate selection and cell-based assay development

  • Understands and able to design troubleshoot and analyze data for receptor pharmacology experiments,

  • Practical understanding of a wide range of cell biology techniques such as reporter assays, BRET, FRET and HTRF, and other luminescence and fluorescence-based assays (e.g. calcium-sensitive dyes)

  • Expertise across a number of therapeutic areas a plus, experience in inflammation/immunology and fibrosis desired
