Director, Translational Medicine - Leading Biotech Company

​A leading antibody therapeutics company situated in San Diego, is seeking an exceptional candidate for their Director, Translational Medicine opening. The company has programs in Preclinical and Clinical stages in Inflammation and Immuno-oncology indications and good collaborations with leading Pharmaceutical companies.

• Report into the Senior VP of Translational Medicine and Drug Discovery

Role:

• Designing and executing translational studies supporting programs in preclinical and clinical stages of development for their antibody therapeutics.

• Identifying, validating and prioritizing biomarkers and functioning at the interphase of drug discovery and translational efforts.

• Leading the team and guiding strategy towards managing project budgets and timelines to achieve targets.

• Working in a cross functional, highly collaborative environment to move projects towards the clinic and managing relationships with external stakeholders.

• Participating in writing relevant sections in regulatory filings (like INDs)

Required:

• PhD with 10+ years of relevant industry experience or MD with 5+ years of clinical development and translational experience.

• Demonstrated experience in leading programs in Translational Research up to Phase 2 clinical studies.

• Great molecular Immunology background and past experience with Inflammation and/or Immuno-oncology is highly desirable

• Experience collaborating with Preclinical functions to ensure translational development of their lead antibody therapeutics

• Prior experience authoring sections of regulatory filings is valuable

• Prior knowledge working with external vendors (CROs/CMOs) is highly preferred

• Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational and mentoring skills
