My client, a leading and award winning financial organisation are currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Governance Specialist in a pivotal role that will involve the development and upkeep of robust processes and governance frameworks within the IT department. This ensures adherence to appropriate regulations, internal risk frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role will involve collaborating closely with key stakeholders from various departments, such as Technology, Risk, Security, Audit, and Finance, and being an advocate for best practices in incident management, change management, problem management, asset management, tech risk management, and request management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating and assessing audit observations, coordinating with internal and external audit teams to ensure compliance and address any findings.

  • Providing technical oversight of risk management and MAPS, ensuring prompt completion of action points.

  • Delivering insights from governance, risk, and compliance data to propel improvements in IT systems.

  • Generating management information for stakeholder reporting, enhancing measurement and monitoring of IT compliance.

  • Supervising operation resiliency testing and reporting, encompassing disaster recovery activities.

  • Managing risks associated with information technology and cybersecurity.

  • Reviewing information systems to ensure alignment with the company's business strategy.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an IT Governance Specialist role or similar, with a solid grasp of risk and incident management. Exposure to Audit is advantageous.

  • At least 2 years' experience in a Financial Services environment.

  • Relevant IT Governance-related certification such as ITIL or equivalent.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proactive self-starter with strong communication abilities, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Familiarity with ITSM Tools and workflow management, including Automation.

  • Additional IT Governance-related certifications such as ISACA CRISC Certification, ITIL Practitioner Certified, etc.

  • Experience with PowerBI reporting.
