Scientific/Medical Advisor
Are you passionate about advancing cancer research? Do you thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment? Our client, one of the largest global networks of academic groups dedicated to oncology research, is looking for a Scientific/Medical Advisor to join their Scientific Team.
About The Business:
We are working with a non-profit research organization that runs or develops over 30 clinical trials at any given time. They are committed to improving the lives of cancer patients worldwide through innovative research and collaboration.
Role Overview:
As a Scientific/Medical Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the development, set-up, and conduct of clinical trials and research programs. You will work closely with Headquarters (HQ) colleagues, Group members and various scientific partners to drive the scientific mission forward.
Key Responsibilities:
Scientific Activities:
Support scientific leadership to develop and execute scientific mission and strategic goals.
Contribute to the conception of new patient-focused clinical trials and research programs.
Lead scientific/medical discussions during trial-specific meetings.
Provide expertise on scientific and medical matters, including translational research and ethics committee recommendations.
Stay updated with advances in breast cancer and oncology.
Writing Activities:
Write and review study protocols, informed consent forms, and other core study documents.
Develop abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations in collaboration with principal investigators and company leadership.
Contribute to grant applications to secure funding.
Collaborative Activities:
Work closely with Project Managers and the Research Operations team during clinical trials.
Support the review of study documents, budgets, and contracts.
Collaborate with Communications and Philanthropy teams to develop content and messaging for awareness and fundraising.
Provide scientific/medical training to HQ colleagues.
External Activities:
Contribute to organization collaborations.
Represent the company at workshops, conferences, and other events.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in medical/biological/pharmaceutical sciences (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
Experience in oncology, particularly breast cancer.
Proven experience in oncology clinical research, including writing/reviewing study protocols and grant applications.
Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
