Senior Clinical Trial Manager – United States - Permanent – Fully Remote – 10% Bonus – Competitive Benefits Package - Unlimited PTO

I am excited to announce an incredible new opportunity on behalf of a close client to RBW Consulting. This company are a leading CRO with offices on all corners of the globe and provide services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients. Not only were they a leader in work from home positions before the pandemic, but they continue to lead the industry for flexible working as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives. Last year, they were able to fill 30% of their vacancies through promoting existing employees alone, which is a staggering amount within the CRO space and proves their commitment towards organic growth.

Within their clinical operations department, the average tenure is around 9.5 years. When candidates join this company, they tend to stay put. Some of the reasons for this departmental stability include organic growth schemes towards director-level positions, the chance to work with both biotech and pharma clients, and also the opportunity change therapeutic focus from oncology to gene therapy (and vice versa).

My client have full service studies in early and late phase development, as well as therapeutic expertise across oncology, hematology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases, vaccines, immunology, CNS, general medicines, cell & gene therapies, rare diseases, immunology, and pediatric studies. There is plenty to keep you occupied and stimulated within your role here as well as an impressive salary & benefits package including comprehensive healthcare cover that even offers pet insurance and tuition reimbursement!

This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking company with financial stability, industry leading processes, and great working flexibility.

What is your role on the team?

In this role as Clinical Trial Manager, you'll be called upon to Coordinate the functional team members and their activities in your given projects, liaising with project leadership and the sponsor to ensure that the Global Research Operations deliverables are met. You're essentially the bus driver in the driving seat within your assigned studies.

Responsibilities will include managing CRAs and tracking expenses; also traditional CPM responsibilities like budgets, timelines, and data management. There will be no line management accountabilities and team co-ordination will represent more of a ‘dotted line’ than a direct one. If you don’t have experience managing budgets, my client will train you and will not just just throw you in the deep end. For this position, soft skills and people skills are paramount, not just for the management of team members, but also for interaction with the client.

I am seeking candidates with Phase I-IV experience, although the majority of work will be within Phases II and III.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the efforts of cross functional team members throughout allocated regions, coordinating with PM teams and the client to make sure study milestones are met on a global level

  • Execute clin ops strategy for assigned studies

  • Potential to act as CPM where no Project Manager is assigned

  • Guide teams virtually across different regions whilst taking into account different backgrounds

  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks to coordinate study team effectively

  • Bring various team members together to support meeting/study targets

  • Make calculated decisions even in vague scenarios using intuition and forward thinking to achieve project milestones

  • Utilize problem solving mindset through rational and methodical approach

  • Utilize customer-management skills to interact effectively with assigned client/s

  • Utilize organization capacity to effectively coordinate different tasks with excitement and consideration to detail

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science-related field (or equivalent)

  • 5 years experience in a Clinical Trial Management position (or equivalent)

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary

  • Competitive benefits package including holiday, pension, bonus, and other leading benefits

  • Fully remote and flexible working arrangement

  • Structured career pathway

  • Benefits start day 1

  • Very comprehensive – they even offer pet insurance

  • Tuition reimbursement after a probationary period (6 months)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 4.5% 401k match over a 3 year vesting schedule
