Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving partnered research from new target identification and novel drug candidate development through early clinical POC studies, to create life-changing therapeutic opportunities for patients with immunology and/or inflammation driven diseases.

  • Accountable for defining and alignment on the preclinical and early clinical disease research elements of the Therapeutic Area strategy in partnership with other research leaders.

  • Set up the discovery portfolio goals and assure alignment with key partners in inflammatory research, and the clinical development team, and other company stakeholders, including the business development group.

  • Responsible for building a top notch team while maintaining a spirit of excellence in the group and across the organization.


Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Immunology, Rheumatology, Inflammation or related field

  • 10+ years of Industry experience including 5+ years in leadership roles and mentoring direct reports is required

  • Strong expertise in drug development and target validation including leading programs to the clinic. Experience with regulatory submissions is a strong plus.

  • Provide teams with strategies to inform, influence, and prioritize the drug development pipelines.

  • Ability to lead a team in a matrixed environment

  • Excellent verbal, communication and presentation skills
