​I have recently partnered with a Global Biotech to onboard a Seasoned Market Access professional to help with the strategy and global launch of a key asset within their rare disease portfolio.

This is a highly visible role within the organization and you will be part of their senior leadership team.

The role will be based in Atlanta, GA. Relocation assistance will be provided if required.

In Summary:

You will lead all aspects of access and pricing across all indications and any complementary assets that are in the same product portfolio for overlapping patient populations.

You will influence the overall strategy of the asset(s) to ensure that the value of solutions to patients is reflected in price, to ensure appropriate access for patients across all major markets and to ensure that the value proposition and the evidence that supports it is compelling to payers

  • Align access and pricing ambition, strategy and operationalization with both peers in medical, development and commercial disciplines as well as ensure seamless regional and local resourcing, capabilities and plans for execution.

  • Ensure that global deliverables from access operations leads in US, EU and China & Japan and deliverables from pricing, payer strategy and health economic teams serves the needs of the mission and that the mission strategy informs the direction of travel for the global organization.

  • Ensure that the asset and allied services and solutions represent a compelling value proposition that reflects specific differentiation that is meaningful to payers and patients, and that this value proposition is supported by a corpus of clinical and real-world evidence and toolkits that enable local success when negotiating with payers

You will contribute by: 

  • Supporting the development of a full access strategy that is consistent with the organisations ambition for the asset, with patient value ambition, with sustainable access and pricing principles and with the evolving nature of the healthcare ecosystems in major markets around the world.

  • Ensuring the Value proposition for the asset for in each indication are payer-relevant, consistently applied, rigorously tested and properly supported by evidence

  • Assessing internal capabilities relative to what is needed to succeed and lead in key patient populations and make clear recommendations and feasible development, hiring and partnering plans to address any gaps with specific attention to needs that are unique to rare diseases.

  • Understanding key internal and external stakeholder perspectives, navigate and seek or forge alignment among these stakeholders to remove barriers for the development and launch of the asset.

  • Understanding the evolving requirements of various payers and HTA bodies and their required timing and adapt team deliverables and resource planning accordingly.

  • Understanding the state of the art and evolving trends in value-based agreements in US and EU; identify how, when and where such agreements can and should play a pivotal role in the access and pricing strategy

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following experience and skills: 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in leadership within Market Access and Pricing field within the pharma / biotech organisation

  • Excellent understanding of today’s payer systems, business models, policy environment and market mechanisms especially in the US, also across EU5, China and Japan

  • Knowledge and experience with value-based agreements 

  • Significant experience in rare diseases or patient populations or therapeutic areas

  • Experience with RWE strategies

  • Experience preparing and launching assets that are developing multiple indications in parallel and/or experience launching a portfolio of complementary products in overlapping patient populations
