If you are an experienced Microbiologist and would like to take full responsibility for site wide microbiological duties, then read on.

Managing the microbiology laboratory, you will take responsibility for overseeing microbiological queries and investigations on the site – therefore being comfortable as a subject matter expert is critical. As well as taking a hands on approach in microbiological work, you will need to proactively plan, develop and implement new projects for the microbiology department.

Technical expertise is of greater importance than line management in this hire.

Key experience:

• Degree level or higher (or equivalent) in Microbiology

• Strong microbiological testing and strategy experience

• Understanding of microbiology within pharma setting (ideally GMP/GLP)

• Good knowledge of environmental control, monitoring and method validation

• Excellent knowledge and experience of microorganisms and bioburden/contamination risk management

• Solid understanding of contamination control strategy and Annex 1 requirements

• Leadership experience is advantageous but not essential

• Strong stakeholder management skills
