Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE plus contributory pension and private health insurance

Position: Permanent

About the Agency

This role sits within a specialist healthcare communications agency focused on reshaping how health stories are understood and experienced. The team blends strategic insight with practical execution to deliver programmes that address health inequalities and create measurable change. Working across the UK and Europe, the agency supports major pharmaceutical and health organisations on a wide range of initiatives – from early-stage programmes in rare diseases and campaigns addressing misconceptions around prevention and vaccination, through to patient information projects, digital ecosystem reviews and influencer-led activity.

The agency offers a close-knit, inclusive environment where individuals are trusted, supported and encouraged to challenge convention and bring new thinking.

The Opportunity

This Account Manager position is suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of complex, high-impact healthcare communications programmes. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of client accounts, ensuring projects are well planned, executed smoothly and deliver clear outcomes for clients.

You will be given genuine responsibility to shape work, contribute ideas and make decisions, rather than simply implementing instructions. If you like combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and you’re motivated by asking questions and exploring better ways of doing things, this role offers the autonomy and variety you’re looking for.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery of one or more client accounts, ensuring projects run to time, budget and quality expectations.

  • Coordinate activity across multiple workstreams, keeping internal teams and external partners aligned on priorities, actions and timelines.

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with client contacts, acting as a reliable point of contact for programme delivery.

  • Support the creation of proposals and new business materials, working with senior colleagues to shape strategic recommendations and approaches.

  • Assist with financial management of accounts, including tracking costs, reconciling budgets and maintaining accurate project documentation.

  • Develop and apply knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations to ensure all communications remain compliant.

  • Keep up to date with developments in healthcare communications, PR, tools and social platforms, and feed relevant insights into client work.

About You

The agency is looking for someone who brings both strong delivery skills and a distinctive perspective – a person who enjoys thinking differently, collaborates well and is comfortable owning complex programmes.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare communications agency, working on UK or European programmes.

  • Experience in of the following areas: media relations; patient activation and patient-facing materials; advocacy and stakeholder engagement (e.g. patient organisations or professional bodies); social media or influencer activity; social listening and insight generation.

  • Confident acting as the main driver of day-to-day activity on an account, rather than waiting for detailed step-by-step direction.

  • Able to use initiative and solve problems, while recognising when to involve senior colleagues for input or escalation.

  • Collaborative, considerate and professional in how you work with clients and teammates.

  • Naturally curious, willing to question assumptions and explore alternative ways of approaching a brief.

  • Organised and composed under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Culture & Values

  • Encouraging questioning and exploration to find better ways of doing things.

  • Taking ownership of work and caring about its quality and impact.

  • Bringing energy, individuality and perspective to the team.

  • Working closely with colleagues, partners and clients towards shared outcomes.

  • Maintaining an inclusive, supportive environment where different viewpoints are welcomed.

Salary, Benefits & Working Model

  • Salary of up to £45,000 for the Account Manager position. Experienced Senior Account Executives ready to step are welcome to apply

  • Contributory pension scheme.

  • Private health insurance through a leading provider.

  • Hybrid working pattern, with a mix of remote work and in-person collaboration in London.

How to Apply

If you have solid healthcare communications agency experience, enjoy driving complex programmes and are looking for a role where initiative and collaboration are genuinely valued, please get in touch.
