Job Title: SAFe Agile IT Project / Product Manager

Location:United States (Remote/Hybrid options available)

Reports To:Director IT Agile PMO

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced SAFe Agile Coach and SPC-certified Transformation Specialist to accelerate the clients evolution toward a product-oriented delivery model.

This role goes beyond project execution — it is about coaching, enabling, and transforming how our Commercial IT teams plan, deliver, and realize value across the product development cycle.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), enterprise-level agile coaching, and end-to-end product lifecycle transformation within complex, regulated (pharmaceutical or healthcare) environments.

You will act as a trusted partner to Product Managers, Business Owners, and Technology Leaders, enabling them to build high-performing teams that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary SAFe transformation coach, guiding Agile teams, ARTs (Agile Release Trains), and leaders through adoption and continuous improvement of scaled agile practices.

  • Design and lead transformation roadmaps focused on evolving from project-based to product-based delivery across IT and business functions.

  • Coach Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to strengthen strategic alignment, backlog prioritization, and customer value delivery.

  • Facilitate PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops, ART Syncs, and Lean Portfolio Management sessions, ensuring alignment between vision, strategy, and execution.

  • Partner with IT and business leadership to define value streams, optimize team topologies, and remove systemic impediments to flow.

  • Provide mentorship and enablement for emerging Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters, developing a sustainable coaching ecosystem.

  • Champion Lean-Agile metrics and OKRs to measure predictability, throughput, and value realization.

  • Ensure alignment with compliance and validation standards relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, embedding agility without compromising regulatory integrity.

  • Collaborate with the Agile PMO to institutionalize continuous learning through playbooks, maturity assessments, and communities of practice.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience driving enterprise Agile and product development transformations, ideally within regulated or life-science industries.

  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) — with proven facilitation of PI Planning, ART launches, and portfolio-level SAFe adoption.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile coaching at multiple levels — team, program, and leadership — fostering mindset and cultural change.

  • Strong experience in product management and product lifecycle optimization within a scaled Agile framework.

  • Deep understanding of Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and value stream mapping.

  • Proven track record of strategic influence and transformation delivery in matrixed, cross-functional organizations.

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills — able to engage both executive stakeholders and delivery teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science (Master’s preferred).

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Agile lifecycle tools (Jira Align, Rally, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).

  • Experience coaching in GxP, validated, or highly regulated environments.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial IT ecosystems (CRM, analytics, omnichannel marketing, field applications).

  • Additional certifications such as PMI-ACP, ICP-ENT, or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.

  • Ability to inspire transformation through a servant leadership mindset and data-driven storytelling.
