Location: UK / Remote / Hybrid working

An opportunity for a Scientific Director to join an established multi capability leading, communications agency.

As the Scientific Director you will act as a core member of the Medical team providing insights to inform the client strategic plan and partner with client services for development and delivery of client account(s) plan in line with the client strategic plan. You will partner with Client Services to drive organic business growth and you may partner with an Editorial Scientific Director on insights on their slice of business.

This role is responsible for the scientific excellence within existing client account(s) and leading the scientific relationship with our clients built-on strength of scientific knowledge and strategic insight.


  You will:

  • Establish high level scientific and strategic partnerships with clients and experts to successfully deliver the programme of work

  • Provide scientific excellence within existing client account(s) & to the team

  • Lead the scientific relationship with your clients built-on scientific knowledge and strategic insight

  • Partner with the Client Services team to drive organic business growth

  • Provide strategic review of content, ensuring quality feedback is provided to writers to support with their development

  • Partner with the Scientific Services Director to ensure scientific and editorial quality is adhered to across all client deliverables

  • Build effective internal partnerships with internal teams to successfully deliver the portfolio plan on plan and to budget (client services, project management, creative, strategy, etc)



The ideal candidate:

  • A degree in a scientific, medical or life sciences field 

  • Good attention to detail

  • Experienced in managing your time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

  • The ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a cross-capability team

  • Experience writing for a variety of medical/scientific audiences

  • Proven ability to create high-quality medical/scientific content

  • Experience delivering a wide variety of medical writing outputs

  • Experience in reviewing medical writing 

  • Experience in coaching or mentoring others 

  • Experience in line-management and development of other medical writers

  • Experience in leading a high-performing team

  • Experience in managing projects, including resourcing and budgeting
