Are you ready to lead a team in a dynamic medical diagnostics company? We're seeking a talented Laboratory Manager to join a team based in Galway, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. As a Laboratory Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and quality standards of our laboratory. This position offers the flexibility of working 4 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of laboratory technicians and scientists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.

• Laboratory Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards, implementing and maintaining SOPs, quality control measures, and documentation practices.

• Equipment Management: Manage laboratory equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Project Management: Coordinate and prioritize laboratory activities, projects, and assignments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, implementing best practices and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

• Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to laboratory staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biomedical science).

• Previous experience in a laboratory management or leadership role within the medical diagnostics or related industry.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software is preferred.

• Flexibility to work 4 days per week onsite in Galway.
