The company was established in 2019 and has made significant progress in programs with wide therapeutic application in Inflammation, Cardiac diseases and Cancer. Job Summary

The Principal Scientist/Director, Protein Sciences will be an excellent individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and has a deep understanding of Protein Biochemistry. The candidate will work on multiple antibody campaigns in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and lead protein expression and purification efforts of the company. This position is highly visible and reports to the CSO.

Responsibilities:

• Run several antibody campaigns in close collaboration with the Protein Engineering and Membrane Protein groups

• Establish the group and lead from the bench

• Perform mammalian and bacterial recombinant antibody expression and purification to contribute to production and development

• Analyze antibodies using several biochemical and biophysical assays to optimize purity and developability of a clinical molecule

• Develop high-throughput and other innovative protein purification strategies, using technology like liquid handlers

• Analyze results, interpret data and present to internal and external functional groups and collaborators

• Establish and nurture positive relationships across the board to foster an environment that encourages transparency, innovation and scientific intellect

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology or a related discipline

• At least 5 years of industry experience in leading protein expression, purification and biochemistry efforts. Antibody and/or Fc fusion protein experience is strongly preferred

• Significant experience in protein expression, purification, and deep understanding of downstream production, characterization and developability requirements

• Strong experience with AKTA and FPLC chromatography systems and transient and stable protein expression and production through bacterial and mammalian systems

• Experience with high-throughput and automated protein purification systems like liquid handlers will be valued

• Exceptional communication, team building, leadership, and mentoring skills

• Ability to lead innovation to drive organizational improvement in a highly visible role
