Postdoctoral Associate (Diagnostics)

Are you a talented researcher with a passion for advancing diagnostics? We're seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join a dynamic medical diagnostics company based in Galway, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research while enjoying the flexibility of working 4 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Research Projects: Design and conduct research projects focused on the development and validation of diagnostic assays.

  • Experimental Design: Develop and optimize laboratory protocols and procedures, including sample preparation, assay optimization, and data analysis.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare scientific reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives and contribute to the achievement of project milestones.

  • Literature Review: Stay abreast of current literature and emerging technologies in the field of diagnostics, incorporating relevant findings into research projects.

  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, including laboratory technicians and interns.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, with a focus on infectious diseases, diagnostics, molecular biology, microbiology, or a related field.

  • Strong background in laboratory research, including experience with molecular biology techniques, assay development, and infectious disease research.

  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Flexibility to work 4 days per week onsite in Galway.
