Senior Director Drug Discovery

Location: Boston / Massachusetts - USA

The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:

​

• Build and direct a team that isolates and discovers biologics-based candidate drugs

• Discover and develop novel antibody and protein-based drugs

• Establish protein expression and purification capabilities to evaluate SAR and develop biochemical and biophysical assays

• Mitigate potential antibody liabilities related to the production and develop-ability of candidate antibody therapeutics

• Manage the production of purified small molecule target proteins and antibodies in quantities sufficient for SAR and disease model studies

• Liaise with data scientists for single cell transcriptomics analysis

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

​

• PhD and 5+ years biotech/pharma industry experience

• Knowledge and understanding of antibody technologies, flow cytometry and sorting, single cell transcriptomics and protein biochemistry

• SAR and protein engineering

• Experience building, directing and developing laboratory scientists and direct reports

• A strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to function in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential

• Driven and a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced early-stage biotech environment

• Experience building a positive, team-oriented culture with strong leadership and communications skills
