Senior Scientist
Are you a seasoned scientist with a passion for innovation in medical diagnostics? We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join a leading medical diagnostics company based in Galway, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise and contribute to groundbreaking research while enjoying the flexibility of working 4 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
Research Leadership: Lead research projects focused on the development and validation of diagnostic assays and technologies, with a focus on improving healthcare outcomes.
Experimental Design: Design and execute experiments, optimize protocols, and oversee data collection and analysis to meet project objectives and timelines.
Technical Expertise: Apply advanced scientific knowledge and laboratory techniques, including molecular biology, immunology, and biochemistry, to solve complex scientific challenges.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and manufacturing, to drive product development initiatives and ensure successful project outcomes.
Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and scientific advancements in the field of medical diagnostics, and incorporate innovative approaches into research projects.
Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, such as molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related field.
Proven track record of scientific achievement, with significant experience in medical diagnostics or a related industry.
Strong technical expertise in laboratory research, including assay development, validation, and optimization.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive innovative solutions.
Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Flexibility to work 4 days per week onsite in Galway.
