Structural Biologist
Are you a talented structural biologist seeking an exciting opportunity in the field of medical diagnostics? We're looking for a skilled individual to join an innovative medical diagnostics company based in Galway, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. This position offers the flexibility of working 4 days per week, with the option for full remote work for candidates within the UK/Ireland, requiring only occasional visits to the company site (1 or 2 times per month).
Responsibilities:
Protein Structure Analysis: Utilize advanced structural biology techniques to investigate the three-dimensional structures of key biomolecules relevant to medical diagnostics.
Assay Development Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide structural insights for the design and optimization of diagnostic assays and technologies.
Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret structural data, generate comprehensive reports, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across disciplines, including biochemistry, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, to integrate structural biology findings into broader research and development initiatives.
Qualifications:
PhD in Structural Biology or related field: Demonstrated expertise in protein structure determination techniques such as X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, or cryo-electron microscopy.
Computational Skills: Proficiency in computational modeling and bioinformatics analysis of protein structures and interactions.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
Team Player: Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility: Comfortable working remotely within the UK/Ireland and attending the company site in Galway 1-2 times per month.
