A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within a field leading client of ours in the healthcare sector, currently looking to add a WordPress Developer to their existing team.

Have an interest in the latest WordPress features and how you could use them in a project
You will be a success if you:
Have a strong experience of WordPress applications and PHP back-end development
Have a good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
Have experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
Have knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
Can work with code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial.
Are good at problem-solving, and can use your initiative to find creative solutions to coding problems
Can thrive in a fast-paced agency environment and adapt to different priorities and deadlines
Can work independently and as part of a team to overcome challenges
Are passionate about learning and improving your technical skills across a range of web technologies
As part of the Digital team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:
Deliver WordPress development for a variety of web projects across the group
Contribute quality code for the project, including via peer review of others
Help scope and define functionality, including identifying areas where the project could benefit from additional features
Follow development processes and style guides, and help shape these as the team grows
Identify code or concepts that can be re-used or re-purposed for other projects
Ensure that your projects are delivered to the requirements and on the agreed timeline
Ensure that your code reflects designs to a high quality
Offer technical advice and guidance to colleagues from other departments, and provide consultancy backup to Head of Digital
What you’ll bring:
Development of new features and functionality on the WordPress platform
Establishing and guiding the solution’s architecture
Ensuring high-performance and availability and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme or plugin
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, hold strong project management skills and prioritise with a MoSCoW approach
Enthusiasm and a passion for building great user interfaces
The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
It would also be beneficial to have a good understanding of other CMSs and frameworks (such as Laravel, Craft CMS, Django etc.)
